Youth Of Strength

Last, but by no means least (unless of course we do a record by a band who’s name begins with Z) are YOUTH OF STRENGTH. By now you should know the story – YOUTH OF STRENGTH are allegedly the very first UK straight edge hardcore band from the late 80s who never got the recognition they deserved and provided the inspiration for the whole Revelation straight edge scene and bands such as YOUTH OF TODAY and CHAIN OF STRENGTH.

The whole sorry story was regaled in full on the liner notes of their “unearthed 80s classic demo” release which became the “SHOUTING FOR A BETTER TOMORROW” 7”, the first release on our sub label XFist. Whether you believe the story, or fall for it hook line and sinker like one respected journalist in one of the mainstream music mags did is entirely up to you. But on the success of said 7”, the band reformed and went back into the studio to re-record some of their “old classics” alongside new songs, which can be found on the 31 track split LP (with bonus 59 track CD!) with New Jersey’s superb X ONE WAY X. Tongue in cheek hardcore never sounded so good!!

The band are currently in hibernation, but plans are afoot for more YOUTH OF STRENGTH activity at some point – you have been warned!
