Varsity Drag

As you all know by know unless you happen to have been stuck up a tree for the last few years, VARSITY DRAG is the latest project by Ben Deily. Ben, alongside Evan Dando, was of course responsible for writing arguably the best songs on those early LEMONHEADS albums, but chose to leave the band to go to college shortly before they went stratospheric.

VARSITY DRAG has over the past 4 years shown that in those intervening years that Ben has lost none of his songwriting prowess that made those early LEMONHEADS albums so memorable.. indeed if you were lucky to see the band live on their recent UK tour, or have bought the “ROCK’N’ROLL IS SUCH A HASSLE:LIVE IN EUROPE” CD you will know that those old LEMONHEADS classics stand side by side with VARSITY DRAGs songs in their live set.

Released at the tail end of 2009, “NIGHT OWLS” is the long awaited follow up to the debut “FOR CRYING OUT LOUD” and it sees the band really getting into their stride with nine new wonderful tracks, complemented by the re-appearance of original LEMONHEADS producer Tom Hamilton behind the controls.
