The Magnificent

When I finally managed to get all the stars in alignment to see THE MAGNIFICENT play live after hearing such good things about them, the band had hardly managed to step off the stage before I offered to put out their album. But in some ways it wasn’t surprising – having in cut their teeth in bands such as BUZZKILL and EIGHTY SIX, THE MAGS decided to take things up a gear and working with their mutual love of bands like THE CLASH, RANCID and even SPRINGSTEEN, put it altogether and in “PAY THE CRIMES” delivered the goods. Big style.

Possibly unique in slimming down to a trio and sounding even more powerful than they did as a four piece, “PAY THE CRIMES” has received great reviews across the board from magazines and fanzines alike – backed up with a string of shows including a tour at the tail end of the year with VARSITY DRAG.

2010 sees the band working on demos of new songs, and the band will be contributing some of those new tracks to our “INSTANT SINGLES COLLECTION VOL 3” comp to be released later in 2010.
