Perfect Daze

Formed in Ipswich in 1986 when bass player Wolfie Retard left The STUPIDS, PERFECT DAZE were trailblazers who paved the way for later bands without ever really getting the recognition they deserved. Showing influences from REPLACEMENTS and HUSKER DU, their debut “Bubblegum” 12” in 1987 was the very first release on the Vinyl Solution label, that was to become so important at the turn of the decade. PERFECT DAZE paved the way for band like SENSELESS THINGS and MEGA CITY 4 to achieve what they went on to do, and “Five Year Scratch” compiles a collection of unreleased studio recordings, demos and alternative takes on their finest songs.

When the band split up in 1990, the members went onto a range of various projects, with bands such as LOVEJUNK, SINK, SPACE MAGGOTS, CHOCOLATE, BIG RAY - even the ADICTS and EXTREME NOISE TERROR! Singer Lawrence also went on to form the Roughneck label, which gave the world LEATHERFACE and MIDWAY STILL, before finding great success with Domino Records who gave the world in more recent times ARTIC MONKEYS and FRANZ FERDINAND amongst others..
