ORGANIC hailed from Portland, Oregon and first came to my attention through Joe Biel at Microcosm, with whom we did a few trades and also co-released THE UNKNOWN's "Pop Art" album and BEDFORD albums back at the turn of the millenium.. when Joe mentioned ORGANIC to us, we were hooked from the first time we heard them - with a sound that brought to mind the likes of CHRIMPSHRINE and the classic East Bay punk of the early Lookout! releases.
"The Life And Times Of Sal Sagev", a discography of sorts for ORGANIC, was originally released in 2001 between Boss Tuneage and Microcosm and had been out of print for several years (and highly sought after in Japan) until a chance email from Henderson from the band late in 2008 resulted in us repressing "Sal Sagev" as part of our retro series to tie in with the band that rose from the ashes of ORGANIC - DRUNKEN BOAT's Japanese tour. Make sure you check it out!
