THE JOYCE McKINNEY EXPERIENCE were a cracking band from the late 80s UK punk scene based in Leamington Spa (a real hotbed of activity at the time with the likes of DEPRAVED, VISIONS OF CHANGE and BAD BEACH all coming from this small sleepy Warwickshire town – and all featuring the same drummer – Gigs!!) What really made JME stand apart was the dual female fronted vocals of Sharon and Yvonne and a knack for writing really great catchy songs.
“LOVE SONGS FOR KIRK” on the Boss Tuneage Retro Series emphasises that point by combining the bands “Joyce Offspring” album, with the “Boring Rock” 7” and “Cuddle This” 12” along with the bands solitary Peel Session and tracks from the Meantime 4 band “Shall We Dance “ comp LP, along with a staggering 16 further previously unreleased tracks, taken from demos towards the end of the bands existence – that’s 45 tracks in all spread over 2 CD's with a nice big thick booklet and lots of rare photos and liner notes from the band. It’s a fitting testament to one of the great bands of the late 80s UK hardcore scene!
