Hailing from Berlin, JINGO DE LUNCH formed from the ashes of MANSON YOUTH in 1987 and soon became one of the leading European punk bands, fronted by Canadian Yvonne Ducksworth. Following the debut “Perpetuum Mobile”, the band went a touch heavier on their follow up “Axe To Grind” before heading to major label Phonogram in the early 90s and becoming one of the leading exponents of crossover music at that time before calling it a day in 1996.
The band reformed for some shows for their 20th anniversary in Germany and Italy, and released to co-incide with that via the Boss Tuneage Retro Series and our German sister label Rookie “The Independent Years 1987-89”, an awesome comp of the first two albums, and as a special treat, the extremely rare “Cured Earth” 12” from 1988.. the first time those tracks have ever been available on CD! There is talk of a new album… we’ll let you know what happens when we hear any news!
