Decadence Within

DECADENCE WITHIN were always a bit ahead of their time in a lot of ways – back in the late 80s/early 90s despite two critically acclaimed albums they released on Peaceville, in some ways at the time they were too metal for the punk kids and too punk for the metal kids, yet listening to their stuff now you realise that the band never really got the recognition they deserved, and it was only after the band dissolved and members went on to STAMPING GROUND that folks began to sit up and take notice.

“REFLECTIONS” is a stunning 49 track comp of rare and previously unreleased tracks taken from singles, demos and comps – right from their debut “Speed Hippy” 7” through to their final recordings almost a decade later, compiled by the band.. of course bass player Ian “Slug” Glasper has in recent years become a respected punk writer, and the final part of his trilogy on 1980s UK punk “Trapped In A Scene : UK Hardcore 1985-89” is essential reading and a source of much more information on many of the bands on the Boss Tuneage Retro Series..
