DAN hailed from Darlington and were one of the very first bands we thought about doing for the Boss Tuneage Retro Series! Bassist Ian of course ran Meantime Records, which was one of the very UK labels that inspired me to set up Boss Tuneage in the first place, and his band DAN were the first release on that fine label! The resulting “THOLOGY” double CD was a monster – 64 tracks containing the bands three albums, live album, Peel Session and single!

Pressed in 2005, the CD is now sold out and likelihood is that we will not be repressing it – sorry! The main reason being the CD plant that pressed this for us no longer exists, so we would have to start from scratch and treat it as a brand new release if we were too.. but we included it here on the website as we do get requests for it fairly regularly, so if the situation changes, we will let you know.. there could still be the odd copy hanging around in distros that you might come across, and it is available to download on ITunes etc (follow the link to our Downloads page)… Members of DAN of course went on to form SOFA HEAD, so make sure you check out their reissues on Boss Tuneage too!
