BEDFORD FALLS

About

After a couple of hotly received split 7" singles, the band has built up a storming live reputation on the UK DIY punk scene gig network. Featuring a couple of members of UK underground legends THE TAKE (Household Name/Bombed Out) the band have spent two years recording and perfecting their debut album. Sounding like they would not be out of place on the legendary Taang! label in the early 90s, BEDFORD FALLS effortlessly drift out melancholic indie rock in the vein of their heroes, namely BUFFALO TOM, THE REPLACEMENTS, MOVING TARGETS and THE LEMONHEADS (original Lemonheads member Ben Deily is an ardent fan commenting they were the best band he had seen in over 10 years after a recent show)..

Bedford Falls is a 4 piece rock and roll band from Cardiff, South Wales. They comprise: Peter Leakey (guitar/vocals/keys), James Reed (bass), Tom Willecome (vocals/guitar), Jim Williams (drums/ percussion/ guitars/ vocals/keys/tapes)

They’ve been doing what they do for about five years. They wonder where the time went too.

They play melancholy punk rock that has been compared to bands like; Husker Du, Buffalo Tom, The Moving Targets, The Lemonheads, REM, The Weakerthans and Leatherface amongst others.

Jim and Pete were members of Cardiff’s legendary and much missed post-hardcore outfit The Take (Tom used to drive the van) and Pete is a current member of The New 1920s.

They formed in early 2003 although Jim and Tom had been writing songs together as Bedford Falls as far back as 1999. They’ve previously released two split 7” singles. One on Newest Industry Records with Floridian band The Enablers and the other with London band Sevens and Nines on Rat Patrol Records.
